The Broken Leaves Beneath our Feet is a cursed game from the Snack Dimension. Lilith found the game on the back of a box of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios during Episode #68 of Diet Coke & Lilith's House of Snax. She bought the box at an H-E-B in the Austin area. The gameplay involves counting Cheerios and rolling dice, and if the player is unlucky, the game informs them, "you will be eaten by the yeti come winter's fall."
After Diet Coke and Lilith played the game during the podcast believing it to be harmless, Skeej informed the two that the curse of the yeti come winter's fall is a very common curse in the Snack Dimension. The game is a Snack-Keeper's equivalent to Jumanji, and it was never meant to cross over to this dimension. Skeej also explained that if you cheat the game by using a bigger spoon, the yeti will kill you twice; it refers to this method of cheating as "Human's Trick." (Skeej is knowledgeable about the yeti because they talk with the it every Wednesday night, and they both perform at the same open mic that happens Wednesdays at a local coffee shop in the in-between dimension.)
Despite the warnings from Skeej regarding the game's real danger, after realizing that seemingly no other box of Pumpkin Spice Cheerios in the world had the game on the it, Lilith uploaded a scan of the back of the cereal box to the House of Snax Twitter and made the game available for download on her itch page (free, but any money given for it will be donated it to trans crowdfunds). She also added an additional rule to the game: if you cannot find Pumpkin Spice, Honey nut, Apple Cinnamon or regular Cheerios can be house ruled in. CHOCOLATE CHEERIOS ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.[1]
As of yet, Diet Coke has not been eaten by the yeti, despite being told by the game that she would be. Since winter's fall has passed, it seems that the version of the game played on the podcast may be safe.
